Live Craps

Have you ever seen a casino film that features a game with people throwing dice across the table? Well, that game is most probably Craps. Craps is a highly popular casino game that has been around for many years. But, this one is different.

Evolution Gaming has developed a live casino version of the game, so players can play this once highly popular game from the comfort of their own homes. In this article, we will look at all the information about Live Craps, and how you can play Live Craps from your laptop at home.

Introduction to Live Craps

The Live Craps is an entertaining live dealer game, but a difficult-to-learn type of game. It is a live casino game that many Aussies are able to play at many different online casinos. Although it is a hard game to learn, we assure you that it is completely worth it.

There were some changes that had to be made when compared to the real-life casino version of the game, but it is not significant. Due to the nature of the game being an online one, the dice are not thrown by the players, but by a robotic arm. We will get into this later in the ‘How To Play Live Craps’ section.

The Interface of Live Craps

The backdrop of Live Craps looks like it is made out of high-quality wood and is styled in a classic way. In the middle of the screen, you will find a door with glass that will take you to another room. On the left side, you will find the Top Numbers of the current round, whilst, on the right side, you will ding the most Popular Bets of the current round.

In front of the dealer, you will see a massive table that has the Craps layout. This is where the dice will be rolled in each and every round. Evolution Gaming is known for creating incredible games, and this is no different. It is easy on eye and it really is impressive how they were able to create such an interface. Similar interfaces can be found in some of their other live dealer  games such as;

The Number Feature

In Live Craps, there is a unique feature that you won’t find anywhere else. In the bottom right-hand corner of your screen, you will find the My Numbers feature. This feature will allow you to keep track of the numbers that you are betting on, as well as show you the payouts that you would get if the dice rolled that particular number. You can also place bets through this feature. We find this very handy!

The Live Dealers Role

Given that Live Craps is a live casino game, it is not surprising to see a live dealer in the game. The main role of the live dealer is to collect the dice thrown by the robotic arm and place them back onto the robotic arm’s dice holder. In a casino establishment, the craps game is much more entertaining given the atmosphere, so having a live dealer who talks during the game is something positive.

Understanding The Different Betting Options

Before being able to play Live Craps, it is important to know what each option on the board means. There are various different betting options and each one is unique in its own way. Let’s first take a look at these options for you to start being familiar with them.

The One Roll Bets

As the name implies, the following bets are ones that only last for one roll. In the table below, you can find all the different types of bets that can last only for one round. It’s either you lose or you win. That’s the situation.

Type of Bet Explanation Payout
Field Bet Betting that the total of the dice will come out to be either 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, or 12. 1:1
Seven Bet Betting that the total of the dice will come out to 7. 4:1
Craps Bet Betting that the total of the dice will be either 2, 3, or 12. 7:1
Double 1 Dice Bet Betting that the total of the dice will be 2. 30:1
1 & 2 Dice Bet Betting that the total of the dice will be 3 15:1
Five & Six Dice Bet Betting that the total of the dice will be 11 30:1
Double 6 Dice Bet Betting that the total of the dice will be 12 15:1
C&E Bet Betting that the total of the dice will be either 2, 3, 12 OR 11 (2, 3, 12 Payout: 3:1)

(11 Payout: 7:1)

Multi Dice Roll Options

Before heading into the actual multi dice roll options, we first need to understand what Come Out and Point Rolls. Come Out is connected with the Point Rolls. The majority of the time, it’s the Point Rolls that accumulate so many bets on it. But before getting into these 2 betting options, let’s look at a key factor in the game, the Table State. Afterwards, we will take a look at the Come Out Roll and the Point Roll.

Table State

On the top part of the betting table, one can see a puck-shaped indicator. It can either be ‘ON’ or ‘OFF’. It is important to know the status of this puck as it makes all the difference in your bets. If the puck shows that it is white and ‘ON’, then that means that the upcoming roll is a Point Roll. If it’s black and shows ‘OFF’, then that means that the next roll will be a Come Out Roll.

Come Out Roll

With regards to this betting option, you would be hoping to roll either 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, & 10 because these numbers would then take you to the Point Roll Stage. For instance, if you placed a bet on the ‘Come Out’ and the number lands on 5, your bet would then be moved onto the number 5. When a total of 5 is rolled, you would win that bet! But, if a total of 7 is rolled, then you would lose the bet. The bet goes on until the dice roll is either a 5 (win) or a 7 (lose).

When having a Come Out Roll, there are two possible bets that can be placed. These are the following:

  • The Pass Line: In this bet, you would be hoping to get a roll of 7 or 11, as this would give you the win. This would give a payout of 1:1. But if you roll a 2, 3, or 12 then you would lose.
  • The Don’t Pass Line: This is practically the opposite of ‘The Pass Line’. If you roll a 7 or 11 you would lose, but if you roll a 2 or 3 is a win. If you roll a 12, then that would be a push.

How To Play Live Craps

Given that we have not established the different betting options available, we can now go and take a look at how the game is played. The game is fairly easily played as all the players need to do is choose the type of bet they wish to place, well as the amount, and then wait for the robotic arm to throw the dice across the table. It is really that simple!

It is highly important to remember that for every bet you place when playing Live Craps, you try to have a strategy with it. If you don’t have a strategy in place, then we highly suggest you take a look at the following section, as there you will be able to view the best strategy we have found when playing Live Craps.

RTP & Betting Amounts

Now that you know how to play the game, it’s time to take a look at the Return To Player rates as well as the betting amounts available when playing this game. First of all, there is no one definite RTP amount as it is more rather a range. The RTP can be as low as 83.33% which is quite poor, up to a high 99.17%.

When it comes to betting amounts, players have a wide range of betting options. The minimum bet in Live Craps is $0.10 whilst the maximum bet is $5,000. It is also worth noting that this can change from one casino to another.

Strategies To Live Craps

One of the most well-known strategies in Live Craps is the Come Roll Win Strategy. Although this strategy is based on luck (like all other strategies), it is still a strategy that can help you potentially win some money. So, let’s get into it!

What this strategy entails is that the player would place a bet on the Come Roll bet, or by placing a direct bet on the ‘Win’ status of the numbers. You can choose whichever numbers you prefer, but we suggest you bet a ‘Win’ on 5, 6, 8, and 9. From this, now we would be hoping for the dice to roll on one of these numbers. If the dice, for instance, lands on 8, and you had placed a bet of $10, for the next round you would place a $12 on the 8. The others would stay the same.

How To Continue The Strategy

After winning a round, don’t stop there! In this strategy, as previously mentioned, if the dice roll an 8, then the number 8 bet in the next round should be increased. But, if you lose, which is possible if the dice roll a 7, then you would start your betting journey all over again.

What we mean by this is that you should restart your betting amount of $10 (if that’s the amount you started with) on 5, 6, 8, and 9. It is really that simple!

Some Cool Features

Need Some Help? No Worries!

In Live Craps, there is a unique tutorial feature that can help you understand how the game is played, and what different options you can place. With this, you can now be able to speed up the process of understanding the game. This can be accessed by simply clicking on the icon that has a shirt and tie!

Assistance From The Dealer

This feature can be accessed through the settings tab. You can Turn On or Off the dealing of your bets. This means that if you turn this feature on, your betting options from the previous round would then be automatically added to the next round. If this is something that you do not want to happen, then you can simply turn it off.

Live Statistics

When loading up the game, you will notice 2 lists on the interface. One on each side of the dealer. These lists, which are the ‘Top Number’ list and ‘Popular Bets’ list, show you what real-time players are betting on for that round.

Live Craps: Hard To Learn, Fun To Play

In conclusion to this Live Craps review, we can truly say that it is a hard game to understand, but it is also a fun one to play. With the rounds being as fast as they can be, and the robotic arm throwing the dice from one end of the table to another, it really does give out that excited feeling.

Unfortunately, like many other live casino games, these types of games don’t really match the vibe that you can experience at a casino establishment. Evolution Gaming has done an incredible job of trying to get that feeling to the digital world, but it doesn’t really match up.

Live Craps has many features and this is one of the reasons that it stands out from the crowd. But, if you feel that Live Craps is too hard to learn, or that the style doesn’t really match your vibe, we highly suggest that you take a look at other live casino game reviews that we have made. One live casino game that is considered extremely popular right now is Live Side Bet City.
